Loom sheds, live on the shift report.Metres, stops, and weaver output — from the loom counter to the ERP.

Weaving Monitoring AI reads every loom’s counter and stop signal through the plant gateway. Opening and closing readings, net metres, stop reasons, and weaver averages fill the Day and Night shift report on their own — and the same metres flow into production listing, finishing, and fabric stock in eManage Weaving ERP.

eManage Weaving Monitoring AI reads loom counters and stop signals through the plant edge gateway. Opening and closing readings, net metres, kg, stop reasons, and weaver-wise averages land on the Day and Night shift report and the eManage weaving production card, with a 72-hour store-and-forward buffer if WAN dies.

SHED · SHIFT REPORT · WEAVERS · STOPS

The problem

The loom counter already knows. The shift sheet still waits for a pen.

At every shift change a supervisor walks the shed, writes the opening and closing reading of each loom, subtracts by hand, and averages each weaver’s looms. Fitter time, a weaver who left early, and a beam out live in the remarks column — and production, finishing, and stock reports only hear about it the next morning.

Twice a day

Readings by pen

Opening and closing counters are walked and written for every loom, every shift.

Hidden

Stops in the remarks

Beam outs and fitter work are a scribble, not a reason code with minutes.

Late

Weaver average after the fact

Per-weaver averages are worked out once the shift is already over.

A day behind

ERP keyed next morning

Production listing and fabric stock wait for the clerk to type the sheet in.

On the board

Five numbers every loom shed should see live

Built around the shift sheet weaving supervisors already sign — filled from the loom, not from a walk round the shed.

Metres

Net production per loom

Closing minus opening reading, live, for every loom and every shift.

Kg

Weight off the loom

Width × gram × metres from the sort, so kilos are known before the roll is weighed.

Average

Weaver-wise output

Each weaver runs two to four looms. Their average is tracked against the shed, shift by shift.

Stops

Reason-coded downtime

Warp break, weft break, beam out, and fitter work with minutes — not a scribble in the remarks.

Flow

Into the weaving reports

Metres reach production listing, finishing balance, and fabric stock without a register in between.

How it works

01

Read the counter

Tap the pick or metre counter and the stop signal — from the controller on rapier and air-jet looms, or a proximity sensor on older power looms.

02

Tag weaver and sort

Weavers badge in per shift. Quality, width, and gram per metre come from the eManage sort, so every metre is costed right.

03

Score on the edge

Net metres, stops, and weaver averages compute on the plant LAN. The shift report still fills if the internet is dead.

04

Write the reports

Shift production posts to eManage Weaving ERP — production listing, finishing issue, fabric stock, and sale-order balance move with it.

Inside eManage Weaving ERP

The reports the office already reads — fed by the looms.

Loom metres from the monitoring system land in the production listing, then flow on through finishing, sale-order balances and fabric stock — no register, no re-typing. Pick a report, change the criteria, and click a contract, product or bundle to drill in.

The same reports the office already reads

eManage Weaving ERP already runs sale orders, yarn purchase, dyeing, in-house weaving, finishing, and fabric stock. Weaving Monitoring AI fills its production side from the looms — not from a register.

  • Day and Night loom report — opening, closing, net, kg, and weaver average — with no pen
  • Bundle-wise production listing: pieces, weight, metres, and average weight off each loom
  • Finishing issue, receipt, shortage, and pending days per challan
  • Fabric stock from grey to ready, cut pack, and dispatch — product-wise and shade-wise
  • 72-hour circular buffer so a fibre cut does not erase the shift

What goes on the shed

  • Loom counter tap

Reads picks, speed, and stop from the loom controller; a crank proximity sensor on older power looms.

  • Stop-reason keypad

Warp break, weft break, beam out, fitter — one press gives a coded stop with minutes.

  • RFID weaver badge

Weavers and helpers sign in per shift; looms are assigned from the shed plan.

  • Shed gateway

One edge box per shed, buffering up to 72 hours offline and syncing alarms first.

Questions plants actually ask

No. Rapier and air-jet looms expose pick count and stop status on the controller; older power looms get a proximity sensor on the crank shaft. The loom and its settings stay exactly as they are.

Yes. Loom number, weaver, employee code, quality, size, gram, opening and closing reading, net production, and weaver average are generated from the counters — in the Day and Night layout supervisors already sign.

They stay. Sale order status, yarn purchase and dyeing stock, production listing, finishing balance, fabric stock, and bundle tracking are the same reports — the loom metres simply arrive in them during the shift.

Yes. Averages are taken across each weaver’s looms, and double-width looms are flagged so kilos are not counted twice.

The edge gateway keeps the loop. Counters, stops, and badge-ins buffer for 24–72 hours and sync to eManage on reconnect — alarms first, then history.
